Must Eats in Savannah, GA
If you’re traveling to or around Savannah, Georgia you MUST stop at these restaurants that we tried and loved! Even looking back on them two years later, my mouth is watering! I’ve craved these foods a lot since we spent two summers in Savannah.
1. Chicken Salad Chick
I love love love this spot! It's not only found in Savannah, but it's a chain that's popular in the mid-west and east coast. They have such good chicken salad sandwiches! You can order a dozen different kinds. (I didn't even know they made that many kinds of chicken salad).
2. The Crab Shack
This is a must if you are visiting Savannah! I took my parents here last summer when they came to visit us and they loved it! So, we went back again the following summer! It's a little pricey but then again it's seafood and they give you a BIG bang for your buck! The location is another reason to go—it's a back country styled spot on the edge of the river and there's a Tarzan/Jungle Book feel to it that I love. To top it off they have about 30 live alligators (3-5 feet long) in a caged area that you can feed. It's a good spot for kids to get to know the south—both the food and the friends. :) We ordered the Captain Crab's Sampler Platter for 2.
3. Starland Cafe
Probably one of the best paninis I've ever had! This place also catered movies that were shot in and near Savannah. It's a small townhouse that's turned into a little diner. It's a cute little spot!
4. Vinnie Van Go-Go’s
This is one of the first places I ate in Savannah. It’s some of the BEST pizza! You get a bang for your buck, that’s for sure! The corner spot sits right in the heart of downtown Savannah and is a great location to walk around and shop when you’re done eating.
5. The Five Spot
This is a very great spot in Savannah as well. I only had the chance to eat there once but it was really good! They have great burgers and even better sweet potato fries!
6. Leopold's Ice Cream
This place is must if you’re visiting Savannah! They have amazing ice cream, sandwiches, and more! Leopold’s actually catered some movie sets that were shot in Savannah including “The Last Song”. It’s a must eat in Savannah!
